Panther Tank
$6.25
This is a 3d printed panther tank from the WW2 era. The Panther tank, officially the Panzerkampfwagen V Panther, was introduced by Germany in 1943 to counter the effective Soviet T-34, aiming to integrate superior firepower, mobility, and armor into a single, formidable platform. With its long-barreled 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun and cleverly sloped armor enhancing its defensive capabilities, the Panther initially suffered from significant mechanical issues, including transmission and engine failures, which led to high non-combat losses during its early deployment. As these reliability problems were gradually addressed, the Panther began to show its true potential on the battlefield, notably at the Battle of Kursk, where despite initial setbacks, it demonstrated its formidable capabilities. However, the complexity of its design meant that production was slow, and the tank consumed a large amount of resources, with only around 6,000 units produced. The Panther's influence extended beyond the war, significantly impacting post-war tank design, but its effectiveness during the conflict was limited by Germany's strategic and resource challenges, marking it as both an icon of innovation and a reminder of the harsh realities of wartime production.
