Jumbo Sherman Tank

This is a 3D printed jumbo Sherman tank from the WW2 era. The M4A3E2 Sherman, commonly known as the Jumbo Sherman, was a heavily armored variant of the iconic American M4 Sherman tank, designed specifically to lead assaults and provide substantial protection against German anti-tank weapons during WWII. Introduced in 1944, it featured significantly thicker armor, with the front hull and turret armor increased to 102mm and 152mm respectively, making it one of the best-protected tanks of its time. While it retained the 75mm gun in many models, some were later upgraded to the 76mm for improved anti-tank capabilities, though the Jumbo was valued more for its role as an assault tank, leading the charge and providing a mobile fortress for infantry support, rather than for tank-to-tank combat. Its production was limited to about 254 units, but its impact was notable, particularly in battles like the Rhineland campaign, where its heavy armor allowed it to advance under heavy fire, offering a psychological boost to Allied troops and a formidable challenge to German defenses.
